Virginia Women and Family Support Center
I created this program to help women in crisis who are pregnant and home. This program also provides stable housing for women who are homeless with young children. When families have stable housing children thrive.
Maternal Health Advocacy
Research consistently shows that safe, stable housing directly impacts maternal health outcomes and early childhood development.
When women who are pregnant and homeless have safe, stable housing:
-they can focus on caring for their children
-thay have a address to apply for services, and jobs
-babies are prenatal and postpartum outcomes improve
-stress and trauma levels are lowered
-increased access to healthcare
We are on the frontlines to decrease negative maternal outcomes through long-term housing.
